Setting up your free blog is easy and can be done in just a few steps.
If you have already registered, you would have noticed a little check box towards the bottom of the sign up form that asked “Would you like to create a blog?”
If you checked “Yes”, and your registration was successful, the you already have a blog with us and you can skip down to “Setting it up”.
If you missed that option on the registration page, then you can go to your action menu at the top of the website to the heading that say’s “My Blogs” and from the drop down menu choose “Create a Blog”.
The next page will ask you to choose a domain for your blog. Choose carefully because this cannot be undone and you are only allowed one blog.
Your blog will have it’s own URL which will be a subdomain of our main website address, so if for instance you choose ” I love Olberman” as your domain, your web address will be http://www.iloveolberman.fugget.com. Get It ?
You will also be asked to name your blog. This is the heading that will appear at the top of your blog. It is nice if these two match, to avoid confusion and to make your blog easier found via search engines, but it’s not necessary. This can be changed later.
That’s it ! You should get a success message that you blog has been created and a link to it, and a link to the Administrative back end. You will use the username and password that you originally picked when your registered, to access your blog.
For future reference, you can always sign into your blog from anywhere by going to your sign in page http://www.xxxxx.fugget.com/wp-admin, with “xxxx” being what ever you chose as an address.
Setting it up:
Once you log into your blogs back end, you will see that you have control over just about all of it’s functions and options. The first thing that you probably want to do is pick a design, or theme for your blog.
On the left side of your admin panel is your “Dashboard” menu. This is where all of your settings and options are. To choose a theme, Go To and click the “Appearance” tab and you will see a good number of themes to pick from. (Themes are chosen and uploaded by Admin for everyone’s use).
To see what your blog would look like using any chosen theme, just click on the image and a larger version will display. At the top right of each larger theme image is an “Activate” link. Click that link to load that particular theme onto your blog. If you don’t want that theme, simply click outside of the window or click the “X” on the top left to close the window.
Making your first blog post:
If you look down on the Admin menu, you will see a tab titled “Posts”. Click that tab and you will have 4 options:
1. “Edit”. .To make changes, update or remove any posts that you have made thus far.
2. “Add New”…To make a new blog post
3. “Post Tags”. Tags are descriptions that help search engines and other services know what that particular post is about. You will see a “Post Tags” area to the right of your post editor when you are making, or editing a post.
4. “Categories”..They help you organize your blog into individual subjects, and also help readers navigate to the different subjects of your posts. Most themes in the pool, have a category menu that displays somewhere on the blog’s front page. Categories won’t show up in the menu until there is a post made in that category. Your Category selection is also to the right of your post editor, just underneath the “Post Tags” area.
Making a post is a easy as using Microsoft Word or any other text, word or document editor. You can upload images, set text decorations, justification…just about anything that you can do with a normal text editor.
You can also switch between “Visual” for the WYSIWYG editor (“What you see is what you get”), or switch to HTML for when you need to embed code such as video, adsense or other kinds of advertising. You will find this setting on the top right of the post editor tool bar.
Additional Settings and Options:
Widgets: Under the “Appearance” tab is your “Widgets” tab. Widgets add extra functionality and features to your blog. Most themes have at least one sidebar that accepts widgets. Some of the available widgets that you will notice include
* RSS widgets that will display RSS feeds from other sources,
* An Authors box to display your personal, business or contact info,
* Community widgets to show groups, users, and who’s online.

* By using your Meta widget in your sidebar, you can log into your blog from it’s home page. (You can also log in from our home page at Fugget.com)
